As is well-known pilgrimages are one of the main religious activities in the Tibetan world. As soon as the Chinese government relaxed its policies on religion in the 1980s\, pilgrimages that had been banned during several decades resumed on a massive scale. During many fieldworks conducted along these years\, I was able to observe the evolution of sever al pilgrimages\, focusing my research on circumambulations of sacred mount ains.
\nNowadays\, this tradition is undergoing several processes: mo dernization\, sinization\, buddhicization\, folklorization\, which have a very strong impact on the pilgrim’s beliefs and behavior as well as on the religious landscape and ultimately question the fate of the pilgrimages t hemselves.
\nThe traditional circumambulation around Amnye Machen mou ntain\, in Amdo\, is one of the pilgrimages under threat. Třetí přednáška bude zaměřena na probl ematiku tradičních přírodních komodit a jejich využití v moderním globaliz ovaném světě a přednese ji Dr. Ondřej Pokorný. Zaměří se především na nele gální ochod s přírodninami a na socioekonomické aspekty s tím spojené.\nKo mparace tradičních a moderních toradžských svateb\nPhDr. Michaela Budiman\ , Ph.D.\, Ústav asijských studií FF UK \nIndonéské etnikum Toradžů\, obýva jící jedenáctý největší ostrov světa\, je známé především svými funerálním i rituály\, nicméně i jejich svatby jsou nesmírně pozoruhodným synkretický m fenoménem. Moderní toradžské svatby obsahují jak prvky autochtonního tor adžského náboženství Aluk Todolo\, tak elementy zvykového práva adat. Dá s e v nich však nalézt i vliv různých křesťanských denominací\, které zásadn ím způsobem formují nejen podobu všech soudobých rituálů\, ale i celé spol ečnosti. Prezentace bude založena na rozhovorech s jedním z posledních zna lců původního náboženství Aluk Todolo panem Tato’ Dena’. Hlavními tématy b udou namlouvání\, potenciální důvody k odmítnutí ženicha\, výběr „vhodného “ partnera\, samotná svatba\, postmaritální rezidence a rozvod v dřívějšíc h dobách. Zaměří se také na roli malajských pantunů při namlouvání a exist enci dohodnutých sňatků. Na závěr bude následovat popis současné toradžské svatby\, která je na rozdíl od původních sňatků poměrně komplikovaná. Skl ádá se totiž vždy ze tří částí – náboženský obřad v kostele vedený knězem\ , občanský sňatek\, který zajišťuje státní úředník (obřad se zpravidla tak é koná v kostele) a neformální oslava za účasti stovek až tisíců hostů\, k terá velmi připomíná současné toradžské pohřby.\n\nIslám v Indonésii mezi akulturací a intolerancí – hledání nového středu\nPhDr. Tomáš Petrů\, Ph.D .\, Ústav asijských studií FF UK a Orientální ústav AV ČR\nIndonésie byla dlouho dávána za vzor majoritně-muslimské země\, kde tradičně převládala u mírněná forma islámu a náboženská tolerance. Politická transformace na kon ci minulého tisíciletí spojená s pádem dlouholetého autoritářského režimu generála Suharta a vytrvalý saúdský export ortodoxního islámu do souostrov í ovšem indonéskou společnost zásadně proměnily. Krom toho se náboženství silně zpolitizovalo a zároveň v indonéském islámu – který má mnoho podob – začal dominovat konzervativní trend\, jenž je příznačný svou intolerancí vůči náboženským\, etnickým a sexuálním menšinám. Nábožensky konzervativní proud pak v uplynulé dekádě našel spojence mezi pravicovými populisty\, c ož vedlo k vytvoření nového trendu – „toxického“ islámského populismu. V r eakci na polarizaci společnosti vyvolané tímto fenoménem se indonéská vlád a vůči islámskému extremismu začala razantněji vymezovat. Jisté kruhy toto vítají s tím\, že je to „pět minut po dvanácté“\, zatímco jiné upozorňují na fakt\, že se tak děje na úkor lidských práv a svobod. Současně je nuce na našlapovat opatrně\, aby se nedotkla sentimentů muslimské většiny. Dyna mika vývoje v oblasti politiky vs. náboženství v Indonésii je tak velmi sl ožitá a naznačuje komplikovaný vývoj i do budoucna.\n\nIndonésie a problem atika „Wildlife Crime“ a „Bushmeat“: tradiční způsoby užívání přírodních k omodit v globalizovaném světě\nMgr. Ondřej Pokorný\, Ph.D.\, Katedra asijs kých studií FF UPOL\nObyvatelé Indonésie a celé jihovýchodní Asie byli od nepaměti zvyklí využívat okolní přírodu jako zdroj své primární i sekundár ní obživy. Také v tradičním lokálním léčitelství bylo zapotřebí zvířecích artefaktů nebo rostlinných produktů. S rozvojem kultur a vznikem dálkového obchodu mezi Východní Asií a Evropou se objevil fenomén poptávky vzdálený ch regionů po přírodninách\, kterým byly přisuzovány magické vlastnosti a které tak byly ve svém přirozeném prostředí poprvé vystaveny tlakům ohrožu jícím jejich populace. Největší tlak přicházel z Číny\, jejíž majoritní en tity si zvykly užívat pro svou léčbu a svůj jídelníček stále více ingredie ncí pocházejících z jihovýchodní Asie – žraločí ploutve\, vlaštovčí hnízda \, tygří penisy\, mořské okurky\, šupiny luskounů nebo přírodní pryskyřice tropických stromů tvoří jen část z celé škály poptávaných přírodnin. Ochu zování biodiverzity a exploatace přírodních zdrojů má samozřejmě vliv i na zvyklosti místních domorodců\, kteří musejí přizpůsobit svůj jídelníček\, zvyky a tím de facto pozměnit autochtonní rysy svých vlastních kultur.     Přední čeští indonés isté představí v rámci projektu CRP MŠMT ČR tři oblasti sociokulturního ži vota současné Indonésie\, na kterých lze deklarovat dynamické procesy změn v této nejlidnatější zemi jihovýchodní Asie. Prvním tématem bude vývoj sv atebního obřadu u etnika Toradžů z ostrova Sulawesi\, který představí Dr. Michaela Budiman. Obsahem její přednášky bude střet autochtonních prvků s  indonéskou modernitou\, ať už žitou nebo deklarovanou. Druhou přednášku př ednese Dr. Tomáš Petrů a představí dynamiku vývoje islámu v Indonésii.     Indonéské etnikum Toradžů\, ob ývající jedenáctý největší ostrov světa\, je známé především svými funerál ními rituály\, nicméně i jejich svatby jsou nesmírně pozoruhodným synkreti ckým fenoménem. Moderní toradžské svatby obsahují jak prvky autochtonního toradžského náboženství Aluk Todolo\, tak elementy zvykového práva adat. D á se v nich však nalézt i vliv různých křesťanských denominací\, které zás adním způsobem formují nejen podobu všech soudobých rituálů\, ale i celé s polečnosti. Prezentace bude založena na rozhovorech s jedním z posledních znalců původního náboženství Aluk Todolo panem Tato’ Dena’. Hlavními témat y budou namlouvání\, potenciální důvody k odmítnutí ženicha\, výběr „vhodn ého“ partnera\, samotná svatba\, postmaritální rezidence a rozvod v dřívěj ších dobách. Zaměří se také na roli malajských pantunů při namlouvání a ex istenci dohodnutých sňatků. Na závěr bude následovat popis současné toradž ské svatby\, která je na rozdíl od původních sňatků poměrně komplikovaná. Skládá se totiž vždy ze tří částí – náboženský obřad v kostele vedený kněz em\, občanský sňatek\, který zajišťuje státní úředník (obřad se zpravidla také koná v kostele) a neformální oslava za účasti stovek až tisíců hostů\ , která velmi připomíná současné toradžské pohřby.

    Islám v Indonésii mezi akulturací a intole rancí – hledání nového středu

    Indonésie byla dlouho dávána za vzor majoritně-muslimské země\, kde tradičně převlád ala umírněná forma islámu a náboženská tolerance. Politická transformace n a konci minulého tisíciletí spojená s pádem dlouholetého autoritářského re žimu generála Suharta a vytrvalý saúdský export ortodoxního islámu do souo stroví ovšem indonéskou společnost zásadně proměnily. Krom toho se nábožen ství silně zpolitizovalo a zároveň v indonéském islámu – který má mnoho po dob – začal dominovat konzervativní trend\, jenž je příznačný svou intoler ancí vůči náboženským\, etnickým a sexuálním menšinám. Nábožensky konzerva tivní proud pak v uplynulé dekádě našel spojence mezi pravicovými populist y\, což vedlo k vytvoření nového trendu – „toxického“ islámského populismu . V reakci na polarizaci společnosti vyvolané tímto fenoménem se indonéská vláda vůči islámskému extremismu začala razantněji vymezovat. Jisté kruhy toto vítají s tím\, že je to „pět minut po dvanácté“\, zatímco jiné upozo rňují na fakt\, že se tak děje na úkor lidských práv a svobod. Současně je nucena našlapovat opatrně\, aby se nedotkla sentimentů muslimské většiny. Dynamika vývoje v oblasti politiky vs. náboženství v Indonésii je tak vel mi složitá a naznačuje komplikovaný vývoj i do budoucna.

    Indonésie a problematika „Wildlife Crime“ a „Bushmeat“: tradi ční způsoby užívání přírodních komodit v globalizovaném světě

    Obyvatelé Indonésie a celé jihovýchodní Asie byli od nepaměti zvyklí využívat okolní přírodu jako zdroj své primární i sekundární obživy . Také v tradičním lokálním léčitelství bylo zapotřebí zvířecích artefaktů nebo rostlinných produktů. S rozvojem kultur a vznikem dálkového obchodu mezi Východní Asií a Evropou se objevil fenomén poptávky vzdálených region ů po přírodninách\, kterým byly přisuzovány magické vlastnosti a které tak byly ve svém přirozeném prostředí poprvé vystaveny tlakům ohrožujícím jej ich populace. Největší tlak přicházel z Číny\, jejíž majoritní entity si z vykly užívat pro svou léčbu a svůj jídelníček stále více ingrediencí pochá zejících z jihovýchodní Asie – žraločí ploutve\, vlaštovčí hnízda\, tygří penisy\, mořské okurky\, šupiny luskounů nebo přírodní pryskyřice tropický ch stromů tvoří jen část z celé škály poptávaných přírodnin. Ochuzování bi odiverzity a exploatace přírodních zdrojů má samozřejmě vliv i na zvyklost i místních domorodců\, kteří musejí přizpůsobit svůj jídelníček\, zvyky a tím de facto pozměnit autochtonní rysy svých vlastních kultur.

O vlas tní bezvýznamnosti čtenáře poučí povolání pušmena\, ale i soužití ve stísn ěném prostoru. Kdo je příliš spokojený se stavem zeměkoule\, pochopí\, že je třeba počítat s útokem krakatic nebo s UFO vyslaných korporáty. Na druh é straně máme vždycky možnost stát se predátorem a vydělit se z davu poniž ovaných. Pro čtení Pak Mingjua nemusí být člověk vzdělaný\, natož rozumět korejským reáliím. Není ani nutné pokoušet se přečíst všechny vrstvy jeho textů\, složitě nad nimi spekulovat nebo probouzet vlastní špatné sociální svědomí. Pak Mingju je mezi korejskými postmodernisty fenomén. Umí psát a zaujmout\, protože má výraznou schopnost jak potěšit\, tak i šokovat. The communities at the top of the ladder were considered to b e ritual purists and were considered to be the people eligible to control land and water resources\, the relative un-freedom of the communities incr ease as we move down the social order\, and those at the bottom were treat ed as ‘untouchable’. Therefore\, the caste system operated as the state in the pre-colonial society.\nThe advent of the colonial state – with an ext ernal source of power – juridical\, military and administrative powers – c reated a situation where the STATE was unrelated to the ideology of ritual purity and pollution and a set of CASTES. This created a socio-historical and political opportunity for every caste to approach the colonial govern ment independently\, as the authority was separated from the cultural auth ority of caste. While there was no individual rights and people’s rights\, responsibilities\, privileges and denials were determined by the castes s ystem\, the emergence of a modern state created the space for individual c itizenship rights. Nevertheless\, their access to state was determined by their relative position in the local socio-cultural economic and political hierarchy. As a result\, people’s aspiration towards the state\, and aspi ration for right to equality was determined by the set of rights they were denied by the caste system. Therefore\, the political aspirations of the non-brahmin ‘upper’ castes are different from the political aspirations of the ‘lower’ shudra castes\, service castes\, and that of the Dalits. This had varying implications on the rights-based consolidation of political i nterests as the demands for rights becomes more and more specific as we go down the social ladder. In other words\, this lead to the isolation of th e victims\, while other sections who are part of the problem in the graded hierarchy can continue to remain indifferent. Thus\, this presentation wo uld shed light on the Dalit’s fight for social justice and equality and th eir participation in electoral democracy. Therefore\, the political aspirations of the non-brahmin ‘ upper’ castes are different from the political aspirations of the ‘lower’ shudra castes\, service castes\, and that of the Dalits. This had varying implications on the rights-based consolidation of political interests as t he demands for rights becomes more and more specific as we go down the soc ial ladder. In other words\, this lead to the isolation of the victims\, w hile other sections who are part of the problem in the graded hierarchy ca n continue to remain indifferent. Thus\, this presentation would shed ligh t on the Dalit’s fight for social justice and equality and their participa tion in electoral democracy.
