Ústav asijských studií FF UK Vás zve na českou premiéru indického filmu Ádžúr a následnou debatu s režisérem Árjanem Čandra Prakášem na téma Language & Identity in Rural Cinema.Film Ádžúr, natočený v minoritním jazyce Badždžika, byl promítán na řadě festivalů a v loňském roce obdržel na mezinárodním filmovém festivalu v Kalkatě cenu za režii.
Film Ádžúr vypráví o životě Salóní, statečné dívky z venkovské oblasti Biháru, která se vzpírá společenským normám, aby mohla pokračovat ve studiu a zároveň se po předčasné smrti matky starat o domácnost. Její životní cesta se protíná s novou posedlostí chlapců sociálními sítěmi. S podporou svého otce, zpěváka v tradičním tanečním souboru, čelí Salóní posměchu okolí, ale zůstává odhodlaná změnit svůj osud.

Institute of Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites you to the Czech premiere of the Indian film Aājoor and a subsequent discussion with director Aryan Chandra Prakash on Language & Identity in Rural Cinema. The film Aājoor, shot in the Bajjika minority language, has been screened at numerous festivals and last year received the Best Director Award at the Kolkata International Film Festival.
Aājoor explores the life of Saloni, a resilient girl from rural Bihar, who challenges societal norms to pursue her education while managing household responsibilities after her mother’s early demise. Her journey intersects with the boys‘ newfound obsession with social networking sites. Supported by her father, a vocalist in a Launda Dance team, Saloni faces societal scorn but remains determined to change her destiny.
